"Greatness in art is the free, significant and profound expression of reality. And by reality is meant the penetration beneath surfaces to the true meaning of things in their relationship to life."

VENTANA SOBRE EL MIEDO El hambre desayuna miedo. El miedo al silencio aturde las calles. El miedo amenaza: Si usted ama, tendrá sida. Si fuma, tendrá cáncer. Si respira, tendrá contaminación. Si bebe, tendrá accidentes. Si come, tendrá colesterol. Si habla, tendrá desempleo. Si camina, tendrá violencia. Si piensa, tendrá angustia. Si duda, tendrá locura. Si siente, tendrá soledad. EDUARDO GALEANO ( Uruguay, 1940 )Tomado de "Palabras Andantes"

“This is the place where all the magic comes to life. In here the constant efforts of trying to paint give life to my soul and everything makes sense.” Belinda Shinshillas
"It is the outcome of work wich makes the greatest contribution to creation. If we never arrive at astonishment about our work, we never create new forms." PLABLO PICASSO 1881-1973

"One never knows what one is going to do. One starts a painting and then it becomes something quite different." PABLO PICASSO 1881-1973

"It is not enough to believe what you see, you must also understand what you see." LEONARDO DA VINCI 1452-1519 "Art does not reproduce what we see. It makes us see." "El Arte no reproduce lo que vemos. Nos hace verlo." PAUL KLEE 1879-1940

"Ah! Portraiture, portraiture with the thought, the soul of the model in it, that is what I think must come." "Ah! VINCENT VAN GOGH 1853-1890
" I'm very interested in trying to do portraits, which now is almost impossible thing to do, because you either make an illustration or you make an abstract suggestion. The point is, you never know what stroke will make an illustration or a charged and meaningful appearance." FRANCIS BACON 1909-1992

Modigliani

I whish I would be able to shape in the canvas the soul of my models, that subtle but vital force that makes us so unique....I whish I will be able to paint portraits like Modigliani did. I whish I could touch with the end of my fingers the cords of the spirit and overtake through

THE FAITHLESS WIFE So I took her to the river believing she was a maiden, but she already had a husband. It was on St. James night and almost as if I was obliged to. The lanterns went out and the crickets lighted up. In the farthest street corners I touched her sleeping breasts and they opened to me suddenly like spikes of hyacinth. The starch of her petticoat sounded in my ears like a piece of silk rent by ten knives. Without silver light on their foliage the trees had grown larger and a horizon of dogs barked very far from the river. Past the blackberries, the reeds and the hawthorne underneath her cluster of hair I made a hollow in the earth I took off my tie, she too off her dress. I, my belt with the revolver, She, her four bodices. Nor nard nor mother-o’-pearl have skin so fine, nor does glass with silver shine with such brilliance. Her thighs slipped away from me like startled fish, half full of fire, half full of cold. That night I ran on the best of road smounted on a nacre ma

"About Life." "Cosas de la Vida."

“I like to think about life in a profound way…. searching for the soul that possibly has been lost. I do not consider myself at any moment to be a completely spiritual person, my soul is still owned by my body’s matter; what I do try very passionately is to find the spirituality in everything that I perceive and I see." Belinda Shinshillas
"Every work of art is the child of its time; often it is the mother of our emotions.... Efforts to revive the art principles of the past at best produce works of art that resemble a stillborn child." VASSILY KANDINSKY 1866-1944
"And suddenly for the first time I saw a painting.... it became entirely clear to me that art in general is much more powerful than I had realized and that, on the other hand, painting can develop just as much power as music possesses." VASSILY KANDINSKY 1866-1944
"I go to my studio every day. Some days the work comes easily. Other days nothing happens. Yet on the good days the inspiration is only an accumulation of all the other days, the nonproductive ones." BEVERLY PEPPER 1924-
"Just as Leonardo da Vinci studied human anatomy and dissected corpses, so I try to dissect souls." EDVARD MUNCH 1863-1944

(English Version) Silence You are the voice who speaks the truth, among a profound silence. Eager scream who wants to be heard and no one wants to listen, and no one wants to talk. Silence imposed by those who have fear, pain… silence that leaves your voice lost, alone…relentless in the emptiness of trying to say something, and saying nothing. Belinda Shinshillas

BELINDA SHINSHILLAS. "When portraying the woman who opens her soul to my eyes, is like painting the Earth, it is like penetrating into the energy that makes the wind flow caressing to your face, it is like understanding the force that moves the seas, it is like giving yourself to the light that every night the stars offer to us, it is like ha

BELINDA SHINSHILLAS Portraiture Portraiture in my personal opinion must be about the soul of the person of which the artist has portrayed, there are certain unique characteristics, but there is just a single soul for each person, unique and different, it is the essence of the being. Without finding the true essence, the portrait is lost, only when the person can see the soul that the artist recognizes within the portrait, then the portrait live

"And yet this portrait, as close as it is to his real self, is a paraphrase of the greatest mystery and, in the last analysis, it does not represent a single personality but a part of that spirituality or feeling which pervades the whole world." ERNST LUDWING KIRCHNER 1880-1938
"Between beauty of expression and power of expession there is a difference of function. The first aims at pleasing the senses, the second has a spiritual vitality which for me is more moving and goes deeper than the senses." Henry Moore 1898-1986

Esperanza

Image
Hope (English version) Delicate balance between reality and aspiration is hope; yellow rose that with its long stem lifts up its gaze to the sky; searching in to the light that illuminates it the reason to persist fighting; the crusade that between reality and aspiration; is called hope. Since Feeling is First

Image
since feeling is first who pays any attention to the syntax of things will never wholly kiss you; wholly to be a fool while Spring is in the world my blood approves, and kisses are a far better fate than wisdom lady i swear by all flowers. Don't cry --the best gesture of my brain is less than your eyelids' flutter which says we are for eachother: then laugh, leaning back in my arms for life's not a paragraph And death i think is no parenthesis E.E. Cummings

I Carry Your Heart with Me (I Carry It in my Heart)

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling) i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart) E.E. Humorismos Tristes

Image
No tengas miedo.. Luis G. Urbina

Proverbios y Cantares

Golpe a golpe, verso a verso… Golpe a golpe, verso a verso… Cuando el

Tu

(English Version) You You the one who walks into the shadows of a
